Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) reveal that in Italy 50% of adults from the Passi study [1] and 30% of children from the Okkio alla Salute study [2] are overweight and obese  and that oral diseases are the most common morbid conditions globally since 1990. In particular, untreated caries of permanent teeth is the most prevalent followed by severe periodontal disease and untreated caries of primary teeth. [3] Other studies [4-11] demonstrate dietary and lifestyle errors as well as incorrect oral hygiene habits. On the occasion of the "Health Prevention" days, organized in the Municipality of Naples in Campania in October 2024 and to which all the professions belonging to the TSRM and PSTRP Interprovincial Professional Order of Naples Avellino Benevento Caserta have adhered, the evaluation of nutritional parameters (weight, height, BMI) was conducted on a sample of the population to estimate the percentage of overweight subjects,  obese and normal weight and what were the food choices, knowledge and habits in the field of home oral hygiene, through the development of a questionnaire as a survey tool.
