Abstract

In this essay we intend to deal with AI in relation to epochal changes and the psychological field (psychotherapy). This first essay, which will be followed by others, aims to provide a critical overview of how Artificial Intelligence is transforming the field of psychology and psychotherapy, outlining the ideas, challenges, emerging opportunities, perspectives and fundamental ethical considerations that must be addressed and considered in the future development of advanced digital therapies. In investigating this, it will be constant care to show how the need for a qualitative, multifactorial and multi-systemic approach must be taken into account. This decision is undoubtedly linked to the awareness that something is rapidly evolving, in the world of AI, after the "great fear" of Covid-19.
